Brakes sticking in Reverse

I have an Ezloader bunk trailer with surge disk brakes. The brakes themself are disk brakes. In order to backup I have to use the electrical plug to my truck to release the brakes. Lately when reversing the brakes are starting to get sticky and its making it hard to go into reverse. The trailer is only 3 years old and hardly sees any road time as I have it stroed at a marina. Any suggestions to what I am looking for to correct? BTW - I have lockout pin on my actuator and am wondering if this will completely release the brakes.

Probably just the reverse lockout solenoid.

Coop - if I put that lockout pin on the side of the actuator will that solve it?

Yes that should take care of it. What the pin does is keep the actuator from compressing the brake fluid and activating the pistons

You likely have an electrical issue with the lockout solenoid. :(

The Actuator lockout pin is a manual override for temporary use/special circumstances.
Be sure to remove it or you will have NO brakes when braking in forward either!

Howdy,

My 2011 EZ Loader had the same issue.

I took it back to the dealer.

The dealer said there was short in the wiring that went to the solenoid.

He fixed it under warranty.

Now it works as designed.

Sounds like this might be common issue.

Could also be the flux capacitor.

Loose electrical wire to the solenoid it was. That key look good greek. I have a key but when you pull forward it falls off so Ive been thinking about taping a nut to the lockout slot on the actuator.
