I want to install a bow seat in the front of my 21' 1999 Fish Master. I have seen the bow seat installed on the longer models and wondering if the deck is strong enough to handle it. It is a composite deck and my dad will be the one up there for the most part and he's a hefty guy. Thanks

What size stub?

3/4" is for 200# or less
2-3/8" is for under 400#
4" is for over 400"

How did you reinforce the deck?

I haven't done anything yet, I'd like to have a flush mount bracket on the front deck and then a removable post. I was thinking of getting an aluminum plate to bolt it to underneath the deck. I'll look around for a longer stub if that helps.
The deck is solid. I just worry about someone sitting in that seat rocking around will eventually weaken it.

what is below the deck in the bow? in addition to the plate, you may want to have a column run down to the keel unless there is a shear panel in the bow area that runs from keel to deck

It’s open underneath. Just an anchor locker.
