I have a 2001 GX 205 that I need to fix the bow seats. I can't figure out how the seats are attached. I can see underneath and no screws, but the seats have some 1/4 give. The sit on molded rim of the fiberglass hull. Is there some sort of latching system that holds them down?

Hey Roger, welcome aboard! I am moving this up to Boat Topics to get you some more action. A lot of this hardware is generic. Good luck!

Roger, this is some 3 months after your post, so you have probably since figured this out, but I may have an answer for you. My 2004 MX175 appears to have the bowrider seats attached in a similar fashion, as they are resting on the molded fiberglass rims. While no screws are visible, mine had 3 rows in the front and 3 screws in the rear, coming up from the underside of the fiberglass and into the plywood bottom of the seat. I had to forecuflly rip the plywood out, which was somewhat doable as it was wet and partially rotten and some of the screws had already come out. You may be able to get to the rear screws that are closest to the consoles from behind, but maybe not. Good luck and let me know what you find out. I'm currently trying to find a way to reattach the seats myself, so let me know if you have any solutions.

mattman, just a thought for you but 3M makes stuff called dual lock which has tremendous holding power and pretty good adhesion on the back, it is similar to Velcro but much tougher. You could stick strips on the seat and their resting place, pending you have enough room. This would also make for easier removal in the future as well. Just make sure you get the outdoor high humidity/high temp stuff if you try it.
