Bow eye repair?

I have a 1981 22' sea ray. The bow eye us pulling out. Tried putting steel plate in the inside of the anchor locker to support it, but still wants to pull through. Looking for the best way to fix the problem. Drive on trailer with rollers, bow eye keeps hanging up on the bow roller under the winch. I think that is the main cause of the destruction to bow eye. Havin a heck of a time putting on trailer. Not sure what I am doing wrong, I guess I will start new thread on that issue. Appreciate any help thanks.

What do you mean by, "Tried putting steel plate...."? Is the steel plate 2x the size of the area of the bow eye? When you use a backing plate, it needs to be a lot bigger than the bolt area that you're trying to secure. If the glass is weak in that area from a lot of wear, then you can use Marine Tek to solidify it, just make sure you've got it lined up the way you want it. Might want to take a picture and post of botht the eye bolt on the outside, and the plate on the inside.

The steel plate is 3" by 5" if I remember correctly. I will try to take pics this weekend to post,new camera old computer not compatible together. Not sure what Marine tek is?thanks
