Could i use hose clamps on the air and fuel lines from the tank? This tank is good and does not have a vent on the cap.

By the way I tried to get it started today using gravity feed gas came out of carbs and blew some out the air/return on hose coupling. At least it ain't stopped up:rolleyes:

No sir, pressure tanks are 5x more complex than what you are looking at. The tank you are looking at doesn't have an air line, just a fuel feed. If you want to use your tank you need to convert it to a fuel pump motor. Your gettting into a whole pile of work to convert, better off just to find a tank.

I've got 2 of them (pressure tanks), they aren't that hard to locate.

Heres the run down on this motor bought the motor for $50 without the pressure tank got to go back and look for it with no luck the person give me a brand new 6 gallon plastic tank still in the box. ( So $25 motor $25 tank guessing)

Have been doing so reading from the info some guys have posted (thanks). I think I will get it running then decide if I will convert it to a newer tank or keep looking for a pressure tank.

It dosen't look to hard to convert although I'd like to keep it original.

Anythoughts????

Keep it original. Those pressure tanks are not that hard to find - they're on Ebay and Craig's List all the time. Just make sure it's rust-free and has the connector to the motor.

Now I know why everybody asked if I got the tank with it. Thats 4 times as much as I give for the motor.
