Re: bottom paint

i used a paint scraper and some times a chisel. yah the chisel doesnt sound right but if i went slow and had a buddy helping me too so it went sorta quick.. spray it with the hose first i found that when i did that it wasn't as messy as of a project.. some one else may have a better tool to use ..

i went thru with the scraper than took a higher grit sand paper.. probably 1000 wet or dry.. wet it than went over the hull ill get some before and after pics

Re: bottom paint

Couple of questions:

Why do you want to remove it? How thick is the paint? This stuff over FRP or wood?
In any case you will need to do yourself a favor and have someone take it off who has adequate equipment and safety gear. Removing antifouling paint is not for the novice boater.
There are several chemical strippers on the market today. I've used this with really good results:http://www.paintremoval.com/Qstore/c000013.htm
If the paint is thin and flaky then you just need to sand good with 80# paper, clean and repaint.
If you must do this yourself please use some good safety gear - not those cheap paper masks either.
Your boating area will be the deciding factor as to which antifouling paint to apply.
