Re: bonehead ramp mystery

My guess is somebody lost an axle at the ramp and they pulled the boat out anyway. These were left by the trailer scraping the ramp.

OK I'm in ......I think someone in a boat recovered a runaway dock....towed it to the ramp where it was dragged or winched up and out and on to a flat bed......

I would have to go with a tore off axle. Low water and it dropped off the ramp.

Re: bonehead ramp mystery

first pic I thought trailer that fell off the corner and left its axle behind, but seeing all the other drag marks, I think some kind of structure like dock, gangplank, etc.--actually a few of them. does the OP know if they had facilities there before?

Re: bonehead ramp mystery

The dock at our lake and other like it maintained by the state have "skids" on the legs that support it by a steel structure.
Most are at gravel launches and they get dragged in and out seasonally, similar to what you have pictured.

Or...I have seen many skegs meet a fate like that too.
Twin outdrives that somebody didn't trim up as the pulled out.
The scratches look pretty deep for that though

Hmmmm......I am thinking........Possibly a houseboat being taken out, had some flat tires on the trailer?

I'll go with pulling the dock out, I'm sure it is something crazy.

First thought was popped the tires on the edge of the drop-off. Wheel rims made the outside marks and the bottom of the trailer made the inside marks. But I could go with the dock also. Or the axle. Or????

i was thinking the same thing. looks like rim scrapes. no tires on seized rims lol

no the docks still there. it a big permenent that never comes out. very close on the low water and went off ramp. he backed the trailer in crooked and went off the edge. lost axle. the leaf spring bolts made the marks on outer edge. granted the water is low and the ramp that doesnt have the curb is usually submerged but you can see he went off the side.

and later that same day someone hopped out and the truck went in to the cab too. glad i didnt go that day.
