I took my outdrive off to replace seals and such and the head of the bolt underneath the trim tab broke off. I had to take it to a machine shop where they drilled it out and put a helicoil in it. They said it was a #12. I'm trying to replace that bolt and I try to stick to Genuine Mercruiser whenever possible. I realize I can probably go to the hardware store and get one.

I found an exploited view of the drive on boats.com here:

Item # 68 says that it is a .375-16x1" Their part number is 65210. I was able to cross that to Mercruiser PN 10-30206, but pictures show that it is an allen rather than the hex head bolt I pulled off. Maybe mine wasn't original or is superseded? It probably doesn't really matter, but my luck it will cause something catastrophic out on the water!

1995 Mercruiser Alpha One Gen II

Thanks!

Link doesn't seem to work, and it's for a 1998 and above. Does anyone out there have the correct PN for my application? All of the pics I find don't have it in them.

Merc used both the hex head and the allen key head in that location, almost alternatively. I guess it depended which one they had in stock on that day....

From the Merc parts manual the part number for that bolt is 10-65210. I'll go out and pull mine out and measure it up and you can just go down to a hardware shop and buy it in 316SS...

Chris.........
Back in a second.
EDIT: Just measured... It's bog standard 3/8"-16 UNC x 1" 316SS hex-head bolt. Any hardware shop. Don't forget the star washer on it too...

Edit addendum: Just noticed Don's post. That dealer program calls out the bolt sizes. Mine doesn't. :(

When I bought the complete Merc. anode kit for my gen2 a hex style bolt was included.
