boat will not planeout

boat will not plane even at wot mechanic says prop is right pitch but still has no hole shot what so ever i got a champion 18'4 with a 200 hp merc there is no water in boat either if someone sits in front of boat it will plane out any suggestions on the problem

I would suggest setting your trim but with that much power on a 18 foot boat it shouldn't really matter other than top end speed. One of my dad's old boats took forever to plane and it turned out to be poor compression. Have you checked that?

Have you untied from the dock ? With that much HP on the back of an 18ft you should be hanging on for dear life.
