Boat Size vs. props

Just a quick and simple question on prop size. I have a Merc 140 I4, Sylvan 18ft, open bow. What for generally just cruising not pulling skiers and what not is a good size prop to go with. I have gotten so many distorted opinions being everybody at marinas wants to sell you crap.

What is your baseline. WOT RPM, how fast does it plane, and what is on there now.
