2002 Lowe Suncruiser 220 with a 115 hp Honda 4 Stroke. It is sitting much lower than other boats around. I have read threads about water in the pontoons. My question is where would the vents be on this pontoon? This is my first pontoon, I am open to any suggestions or advice. Thanks.

Most are at the back of the pontoon similar to a drain on a cooler. Some also have plugs at the top of the pontoons. That picture looks like Virginia.

in addition to a potential leaking plug/vent, depending on the age - sometimes a crack develops at the welds where the brackets are welded.

My old boat had weld cracks like Scott mentioned on the rear brackets that let water in while under way. You should pull the boat and have the water drained and have the logs pressure tested.

Is one side lower than the other, normally you will have A tube leak not both at the same time so if it is level I think it may have to do with the 115-gas tank-sundeck-battery all at the very rear of the boat.

Toons are rear heavy and some worse than others so just that your is lower tha the surrounding boats doesn't really mean anything.

The easiest least intrusive way to find water in a tube is to get it on a trailer, move it forward a few feet and slam on the brakes, put your ear against the tube and if there is any real amount of water you will hear it slosh, obviously this is a 2 person job.

Thanks, 5150. That is a good point about both tubes leaking at the same time. I do not plan on taking it out until the end of summer or it becomes absolutely necessary. I was also thinking that it was very heavy, considering the bigger 4 stroke motor and gas tank.

I really don't think its sitting THAT low concidering-- I see quite a few that you can barely see the top of the back of the tubes when people are on it out on the water-

Look closely at the picture you posted. Look at the difference between the toons behind you, I would say your boat is sort
of riding in the middle of the boats pictured. Regards, old jim

That's not bad at all! My old Misty Harbor sits real low in the rear with a 91' Evinrude 150 and two 18 gallons tanks filled. Just have to have everyone sit up front!

Had the pontoon out today to have water pump replaced. Heard water sloshing in the toons. Found the vents on top and was able to siphon water out of these. I had a lot of water. Riding much different. I guess if it will have to be taken to a shop to find/fix leaks.

Wow. Something doesn't seem right with this latest picture -- the rear of the tube doesn't look like there's any of it actually hitting the water -- Was someone standing on the front end of the pontoon?

I guess the old water line is what is throwing you off. No one on boat. Had the boat out all weekend, what a difference. Hopefully can wait till this fall for any repairs, if needed. Thanks for all the advice guys.
