hello,i've got a fibreglass boat which was handpainted by the last owner.i'd like to lightly
rub it down, and spray the same colour using auto spray cans. would this affect the gel coat, or any other adverse effects?- cheers jonah.

Re: boat paint

Really, really, really important to figure out what the previous owners painted it with. If it was Awlgrip or similar, It cannot be rubbed or buffed. Just sanded and repainted.

Jim

Nope........

Sanding,+ Surface Preperation is the Key to Any Paint Job..................

I'd be a little leary of painting such a Large area with RattleCans......(as far as Over-all Finish)
But,
I've got the Tools to do it Right........

The truth is you'd be far better off to paint it with a roller instead of spray cans. It will be one heck of a lot cheaper and you'll probably get a better job with superior materials as well. Come to think of it doing it with a roller wouldn't take as long either.

Thom
