I was out looking for a lower unit for my Merc 650 1964 Vintage when someone told me about an operation that had been in business for 3 generations. When I found them I think I struck the motherload for boat motor parts. They literally had thousands of dismantled Motors cowels and hoods everywhere for every make and model I could think of. All older stuff like a Seahorse 5.1/2 etc. I asked why didn't he sell this stuff online and he wasn't interested. My question is. Are places like this common place. Should I encourage him to advertise on Iboats ?

Hi OutonBiz
I thought that if i posted a phone number or anything it would be censored or construed as indirect advertising. I was just curious if there would be a market for something like this.

Thanks for the reply

Mr. Bill,

Was it Twin City Outboard? If so, many of us have referred customers to them.

Matter of fact, many of us refer customers all the time.

The moderators and owners of the board only have a problem with someone trying to directly sell on the board.

Referrals to posts are OK.

Hope that's not Cornwall UK
But even Cornwall Vermont is a bit far for me..

There are also boat motors wreckers here and they are invaluable for non consumables like hoods and cowlings etc...
