Boat leaking Through Bilge holes. Basstracker Pro

Took my boat out for its maiden voyage and nearly sunk it. Can that much water come in through the bilge holes? I did not replace the old hoses as they were under the foam. I have the new bilge but am not sure how to get to hoses under the foam. Will I have to remove it all?

Hmmm, are you talking about the livewell drains thru the transom? If so, the answer is yes, it will take on a lot of water really quickly. Now I have run into several that have the hose in the foam, but I've never seen a bad one there. I'd check the transom area closely for the leak... drain plugs, live well pumps, livewell drains, etc....

When the boat is on the trailer use a garden hose and fill the live well(s) and see if there is water going to the bilge. If not then fill the bilge and see where the water goes out of the boat. LOL And yes it fills up pretty fast with that big of a hole...

also check to make sure you had your drain plug in the right hole (dont ask me why) ive done it and seen it happen where the drain plug got put in a livewell or bilge pump hole instead of where it belonged ....


also sheck to make sure the clamps arent rusted /loose at the inlets...... and i did have 1 livewell pump that cracked right at the outlet where the hose attaches and it let alot of water in fast...
