I have a 1997 Bayliner Capri Fish/Ski with a 138 HP I/O. The problem I am having is that I have a water leak. I have went around a checked to see if there are any cracks in the hull, and I have caulked all exterior devices that may cause any leaks. No Cracks and I still have a leak. It seems to be worse at low idle, I cannot watch to see if it is in the engine compartment, because none of my family will drive for me. Is it possible that I may have a leak in a hose or a bad gasket on a waterpump. THe operating temperatures are normal and the boat runs great. I just do not want to let this go and have it get any worse.

Re: Boat Leak

vroom- sounds like it may be coming from your speedometer. Cut an inch off the rubber hose going into the back of the speedometer, hook it back up to the nipple and see if that cures your problem.

Also, your question has nothing to do with momntum's boat, so next time start a new post to ASK a question about YOUR boat if your not answering the original question in THIS thread. It's called "hijacking". ;)

Re: Boat Leak

Does the boat not leak while the engine is off? Why do you need someone else to drive the boat to find a leak? If the leak only happens when the engine is running (and in drive?), why not find an open area and let it run on slow throttle while you check? Is your area that busy you can't be alone long enough to look in your bilge for a minute? I'm not sure what you expect for advice.. you aren't giving us anything to work with.
