Hello all, I am new to boating having just bought my first boat. It is a Bay Water model built by Tallahatchie Boats. The only info I can find is that this company went out of business about 15 years ago. I would like to have an owners manual for the boat or any anything that would tell me something about the boat or the company that built it. Tell me what you thought of this boat, if you ever owned one. Thanks in advance for your help.

First, welcome aboard

Owners manuals generally do not exist for boats.

Get the factory service manual for the motor/drive

Tallahatchie boats operated from 1972-1986 in Wisconsin. A boat that old will have structural issues

I found some other info . . .

Tallahatchie Boats LLC was owned by Richard Wright and was located at PO Box 423 in Charleston state of MS. This Boat maker is not owned by a parent company. Tallahatchie Boats LLC started making boats as of 8/10/2007 and went out of business on 9/2/2009. So, not in business very long.

Boats typically do not come with useful owner's manuals, so you may not find anything.

If you are new to boating, please take a boating class. In-person classes are best, but even an online course will give you lots of information on how to operate your boat and do it safely. If you're lucky, you might have a buddy who is a boater who can take you out and teach you how to operate, dock, and trailer your boat (if you won't be keeping it at a marina or on the water).

If you have specific questions about maintenance, operation or repair of your boat, there are lots of knowledgeable folks here to answer your questions. Just be sure to include the engine and drive type (if you post details about your boat and engine/drive - including serial numbers - it will greatly facilitate those trying to help). Many of us just include that info in our 'signature block' (e.g., see mine below).

Welcome!
