THIS topic caught my attention, so I started assembling this a little while back.

The information is all assembled from public sources, and I've done the design work / compilation. There's no issue with you downloading it and using it for yourself.

Aren`t the directional signals on the Head On scenario opposite of what they should be?

two problems I see... first you don't always need to keep right when meeting head on... steer early to make your intentions obvious and you can pass on either side... also your picture shows keeping left, while the text says keep right

if passing starboard to starboard as shown in pic, both vessels are stand on and if passing port to port both are give way..... either is fine

thanks for the reminder! It's been so long I can't exactly remember what year I took the USCG Auxiliary Boating Safety & Seamanship Course - 1968/72? It's been awhile, and it's easy to think that "I just know how to drive on the water"; WRONG!!

At least, I try to err on the side of caution and yield to all craft because you rarely can predict another skipper's intentions. And a "NO WAKE ZONE" doesn't mean that I can run flat out when my boat only makes a few inches of wake!!! lol

I'm old school and prefer hands on as to online classes, but they exist. This site (put in your zip code) will show classes in your area.

no matter what I encounter while on the water, it was a good trip provided I make it back home OK
