After reading this all and there are some great replys I have this to say:<br /><br />If you are going to pass, drop back quite a ways, [the wave will be less there anyway], get over to the opposite side you intend to pass on clear over to the wake, then after making sure knowone is passing you, turn sharply to the other side and take the wave as straight on as you can with a bow up attitude to a point, just a bit of positive trim angle making the bow a bit high.

LubeDude,<br /><br />You are correct as long as that wake is not real steep and real big. Trust me, if the wake really freaks you out AND there is another one on the other side, an approach at 45 degrees is the safest option. ;) <br /><br />I have had my biggest problems with commerical boats in Long Beach Harbor. They run crew boats out to the oil rigs and they don't give a rats behind. I got stuck between one of those wakes and the jetty for the Queen Mary once. Let's just say that the hand driers at the closest marina restrooms take a long time to dry your underwear . . . :eek:
