There was lots of Cutting of the Hull, Deck, and Cap after, even before being removed from the Molds. Sanding as well. I doubt any PPE was worn, or even provided for those at greatest Risk
I toured boat manufacturing plants back in the 1960's, and again in 2006. The former was a home town guy, and the latter was a current major manufacturer.

In both cases I noted good ventilation and all the workers were wearing dust masks, gloves and "normal" PPE for the time period. I saw no blatant issues or negligence.

My tours of asbestos plants in the 1970's included respirators, not dust masks. My company had the highest safety record in the industry. By the 1990's asbestoses claims were rampant, and most plaintiffs got sued even if their product was not involved with the particular case.

They went bankrupt and I was on the job market at age 54. Best time of my life. Fishing 3 days a week. I figure my lungs will give out in about 10 years.

If that doesn't take me, it'll be the benzene I washed the paint off my hands with when I was a paint chemist. I was warned about fibers, but the company NEVER warned me about chemicals. They went belly up 25 years ago, so nobody to sure.

Re: registering the trailer with no documents, look into registering as a "homebuilt". Inspections make it a bit of a hassle, but it's generally a pretty effective route to take.

I just went that route on another trailer. It's slow and not real easy, but do-able. Still waiting for the actual title to arrive and it's been over 3 mos. Got the boat title yesterday though, so hopefully pretty soon.

Attaching some pics of new goodies. I stripped the trailer of all the odd brackets and messed up lights and wires. It's a good base to build on, but I really have no use for it. I'm in NW Indiana if anybody wants to come get it.

Thanks Jimmbo. Good eye you got. It is indeed a '77. Trailer disappeared real quick. Sold it to a guy who wanted to haul a big canoe around. Maybe I sold it too cheap, but I did recoup most of what I paid for the trailer and motor, so can't complain.

Just don' t be around his burn pile when he lights it up...fiberglass is really bad if inhaled while burning !!!
Most areas have strict regulations against burning it !!

Well unless the cows complain he should be OK. The nearest human being is probably a mile away!
