It will depend on what type of fabric weather you need vents or not. If it's Sunbrella you don't need vents. The material breathes.

Right. I've owned 3 boats. All had full sunbrella mooring covers and none of the covers had vents. There's been no water, mold, mildew or funny smells in my boats, ever.

Thats Awesome! unfortunately I am new to buying covers and didn't know sunbrella was breathable or I would have not let them put the vents in. They sold it to me as an awesome plus in fact the vents were mentioned as a given awesome thing they do on all of the covers they make. My question is now what to do? The relationship with that vendor is broken down. I wouldn't go back to them ever again.

thanks,
Rob

the vents aren't the main problem. thousands of boats have them and while some rain might find a way in it's not a significant amount.

the 2 piece design without accounting for water entry along the bottom of the walk-thru is the real issue. is there enough fabric for the bow cover to snap inside the bottom of the windshield as Don proposed? hard to tell from the pic what's happening on the other side of the bow pole.

if you can't work with them to get it fixed or they are unwilling, you'll prob need to pay someone else to do so. sucks to spend more money when something wasn't done right the first time.

The bow cover does snap to the windshield on the inside. I do find significant water after a rain around the poles not really around the perimeter at all. I finding it strange that nobody has any water coming in through these vents. It's pretty obvious to me that they are the source based on where i find water. it's raining today but not real hard. it could go either way if I find water in the boat.

thanks,
Rob

I have those vents on my cover and water does not come in through them. I would either sit in the boat when and it rains and watch; bring some coffee it might be awhile. You could also have someone pour water on cover while your inside and see if you can find the leak?
