BTW.. Silcone is a huge no no in my shop. (it can seriously mess up paint jobs). But if thats my only choice I guess I could pull it in the neighbor's yard..
here in the uk we have one called (fabsil by grangers) for waterproofing sold by the gallon at most outdoor camping shops or ebay.maybe you have something similar in the states at your outdoor leisure centre shops.can apply ours by brush or the spray bottles that u would find under the sink.
I tried the product from Bass pro shop two years ago still repelling fine. for the best deal bought a gallon and applied it with air spray gun. Very pleased with the results.
I also recommend Starbrite water repellant. If you can't find that, go to a regular K-Mart, Wal-Mart, or the like and get cans of "Camp Dry". It's made for tents, but works great on bimini tops as well.
