So I've splashed my restoration project finally after 16 months of working on it but I need some advice or ideas for boat cleats. You don't realize what your missing until you are trying to dock somewhere and cant. I don't really want to install some goofy looking dock cleats on the rearward sides of the gunnels, I'd prefer something a little more authentic. I have the rope and authentic choke cleats on the bow but wondering what I want for the rear.

I went onto iBoats and found spring loaded fender clips but they were very pricy and you'd want something a little stronger to hold the boat tight to the dock.

Feel free to take a look at the project and give any ideas, solutions or opinions would be great, thanks guys/gals.

I vote for the Herreshoff style too (second (traditional) one).

Split the diffetence and go worth a ?tradional? pop-up.

Split the diffetence and go worth a “tradional” pop-up.

I have a Nautique with the pop-up cleats and they work great, but not sure if i?d like that on my Starcraft.

Regardless I picked up some classic style 4? ones that I?ll mount on the transom but I think I?ll be picking up four fender locks so I can install two on each side for my buoys while docking. I can tie up to the rear on and use the standard rope on the bow with the chocks that are already installed.
