I have an 93 lund. I am replacing the deck. I have a question about the carpeting. the back of the boat has 3 long panels with the middle one(over the gas tank) being removable. if the whole deck, less the middle section is carpeted and then the middle section is carpeted(wrapped then screwed down) won't that section then be the thickness of the carpet higher and look out of place? if I do the whole back as one section then I wont be able to remove if problems with tank-sending unit-etc(and what better way to bring on issues than making it so I cannot get into!ha!). would appreciate any advice and also as long as using outdoor adhesive am I ok? thanks

Re: Boat carpet center board question

You could notch out the underside edge of the center section the thickness of your carpet. This way when you fit the center section in it will be flush. You could do this several ways.
1. Use a router
2. Use a circular saw with the blade set very shallow

Henry outdoor carpet glue will work great just don?t put it on thick or it can soak through the carpet.

Hope this helps.
