Re: Boat Auctions?

This may be a little late but if its a Triumph better watch out. They have 2 grades q2 are refurbs, damaged ect, repaired but you never know currently own 2 of their products. A logic 2001 186 and a triumph 2004 191. logic not bad. triumph has 163 plus days in shop or awaiting parts since oct 21 2005. Purchased as left over 2004 model. Triumphs have cracking, spliting, dents hull distortions, and get mold black spots, in ropelene pours all over after a few mo. Clean right! Buy that 2500 lb pressure washer first, Only way to get mold out. But you never have to wax a Triumph. No just compound and buff with a polisher? Wireing yes like a 2 yr old would be expected to do. Have Fun rockman

Re: Boat Auctions?

I bought two boats at auction. One on ebay and one at an estate auction.

The ebay boat was a Boston Whaler Outrage 18 that had been vandalized and partially sunk. I paid $3300 for it, did a few months and a couple grand work on it and sold it for $8,000. That was a fluke. It should have sold for 5 to 7 Grand on ebay.

The estate boat was a Boston Whaler 13 Sport that had been "customized". I paid $800 for it, restored it to original configuration and got $2,000 for it (wholesale) when I traded it in for my son's Montauk.

I would not even bid on a boat at a new boat auction. There are too many opportunities to buy excellent used boats at auction for well below market.
