Black stains "mold?" on carpet

My wife just bought her dads 20ft Smoker Craft pontoon and we're fixing it up. I tried cleaning the carpeting on the deck which is blue but the black areas won't come out. I think it's mold from the traps sitting on it for so long in the weather. Any suggestions? Awesome site by the way.

I use a mold and mildew stain remover that comes in a blue bottle from your local wally store, Also their Black Streak remover works just as well. I use that and Grease Lightning after and it usually works the 1st time.

Okay, black streak remover, greased lightening, mold and mildew remover, proffesional carpet cleaning chemicals and bleach won't touch this stuff. Anything I am missing?

for spot carpet cleaning give Folex a try .... originally recommended to my wife by the guy running the carpet area at our local Lowe's .... recently she has been able to find it at some grocery stores/WalMart .... she tells me it is the best carpet cleaner she has ever used

You've already tried almost a half dozen things, including a professional cleaning, with no success.
Measure out the carpet, they sell it here. Bet a DIY carpent job on a pontoon boat wouldn't be all that difficult.

soap it down and put the pressure washer to it... worked more than once for me.

I would try spot cleaning with a stout mix of oxyclean (or... no-rinse brewery cleaner) and water.....soak for 30minutes then scrub lightly and rinse. if it does the trick you could apply it with a spray bottle or steam cleaner.

if that works you could use it in conjunction with a rented steam cleaner or light pressure wash...

If mold and mildew remover don't get rid of it, it might not be mold. Could it be an old dirty oil stain? Dye? Paint?. Dab a little household bleach on a tiny spot (1/16", preferably where it's not, or less, visible). If that doesn't get rid of the stain, it's probably not mold.

Best bet, try to get a large carpet remnant cheap somewhere!
