LadyFish,Is that where you were from? My nephew lives in Salisbury and back in the summers of 1972 and 73 I lived on castle road in New Port NY with my sister on the farm. Never been to Spruce Lake though.

Yep OMC, thats it. Salisbury Center was just down the road a few miles. I know exactly where Castle Road is too. I had friends there.

I was just up on Castle Road last Sunday. You wouldn't believe how many houses and trailers on that road now (some in pretty rough shape) and the castle is pretty much completely gone.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but OMC, its really a crying shame about the castle. Next time I come back home, I'll have to check it out. I really don't know the history behind it. We had a couple of castle/olf mansions in Little Falls and they presered them.<br /><br />Oh and I forgot to mention, we used to snowmobile up at Christie's all the time.
