Arkansas is a beautiful state. Born in Fort Smith and raised in Van Buren.
A freak hailstorm could explain the bird kill but I haven't enough imagination to speculate what would kill the fish as well.

Joking aside, they said it might be caused by a hail storm but I thought birds sleep at night. What are they doing flying around at midnight?

Well, DNR evaluation results of the remains of the birds are out.
Representatives from the DNR in conjunction with the University of Arkansas have officially ruled the cause of death to be a result of multiple mid air collisions. These collisions began to occur shortly after the GPS the birds were using upgraded it's software to the latest version of V-bulletin.

It's the GPS not the software. Should have been using anything else but Humminbird, which obviously not made for black bird.
