binding throttle?

My throttle control has been binding at a point right after it goes into gear and im just wondering if this is normal (First boat) or if i should take it apart and look inside. Doesnt do it in nuetral, only in gear, and feels like its coming from behind the control box itself. It's been this way since i bought the boat a couple years ago. Just doesnt feel right and its annoying when trying to set low rpm speeds. It clicks right around 1000 rpm's. Other than that, everything shifts fine and works normally. Heres a short video but it may be hard to determine without feeling it.

Make sure you don't have anything holding the throttle and shift cables from moving within about 3 feet of the control. The cables have to swing back and forth to work. In your video, in gear you are moving the shift cable, but not in throttle only. Thus the heavier sound.
Stick you head in there and have someone operate the shift and throttle and you will see what all is moving.

What I seen in the video looked normal.

Thanks for the quick reply Don. Just stuck my head back up there but couldnt see too far. Doesnt look like the cables were moving much (tight fit in there) but the box itself moves when it binds. Its definitely something binding inside the box, whether its suppose to or not. cables are zip tied in the engine compartment from the crownline dealer that way.

Mine does the same thing.
What I found was that if I remove the shift assist from the neutral switch mechanism, the shift/throttle is silky smooth. I did put the shift assist back on, but can't figure out why the added spring pressure causes binding. Maybe the shift cable needs lubrication?
I'm also wondering if this is normal.

You can check, but..... there is a spring shift assist on the shift plate on the engine that is going to help push it into and out of gear.
You might try disconnecting the throttle cable from the carb and see if it works better.
