Bimini top hardware

My hinges and eye ends are nylon, and looking very
wore out. I'd be affraid to put the top up while running
the boat.

Should I just stick with the nylon hardware, or is metal/
stainless the way to go? Looking for pros and cons.

Just ordered all new nylon hardware and straps from iboats.
I figured if the old ones lasted this long, they must be strong
enough....

When we bought our boat, the previous owner said he had gone through several sets of the small bimini straps for the front.
