Installing my Bimini bought from overton's tomorrow. Anyone have any suggestions or tips? I have read some people anchor the bolts in wood from underside of fiberglass gunnel. Oh, it's going on my 08 q6.

Before you hard mount it, make sure you have your measurements correct. If possible, use stainless steel nuts and bolts, not just screws to mount it, I've seen them get torn off of boats before when runing with them up and only screws are used.

Just curious. Did you spend the extra for stainless? I`ve been thinking about ordering one for my Q6, and am wondering if the extra is worth it.:)

I did buy the stainless I got 20% off the order so it didn't hurt quite as bad. Seems very sturdy but haven't been out with it yet. I will probably ad the stainless support poles too to keep it off the sun pad.

FYI When drilling on the deck trail it would be good to take special care around the wireing harness especially starboard side. I Would also use the nylock nuts instead of a standard nut or will vibrate loose.A washer on the bottom side, or the nuts will work their way into the glass over time and appear loose.
