bilge question!

my bilge pump is toast on my 1989 tracker pro deep V 17! does anyone know where its located, and whata replacement pump size for it would be? <br />thanks<br />-dan

It is usually located at the very stern (rear) of the boat as close to the center as possible.<br /><br />Look for round plastic access hole covers. They may be in the floor or the splashwell. If not there, crawl under the splashwell with a flashlight and look down.<br /><br />It may not be toast, it's not unusual for bilge pumps on aluminum hulls to be come stopped up with trash left over from the manufacturing process (rivet tails, etc.) Been there.

Its in the bilge at the back of the boat. Outlet hose goes out the back or out the side above the water line. 500 or 750 gph should be plenty big enough. Just curious though, if you don't know where the bilge pump is, how do you know its toast? Could be as simple as a stalled pump due to debris caused the fuse to blow. Clear the clog and replace the fuse if that's the case.
