Has anybody had experience changing out a bilge pump hose on a 16' Starcraft Tristar through the original port?

Welcome aboard.

Are you having a problem? By original port, do you mean remove the thru-hull to get to the hose?

Usually the hose clamp will not allow the thru-hull to be pulled out, so getting to that end of the hose can take some contortions.

Thanks, this is my first fiberglass boat. I am familiar with fiberglass and it's applications so I am trying understand the structure of this boat. While crawling around, I noticed a wooden belt with screw ends protruding thru. Does one peel off the rubber at the belt line, remove the screws and part the hull top and bottom??

How about some pics of this wooden belt, and some of the rest of the boat. We like to see what the issue is, and give you correct advice!

Yes, remove the the stern corner caps, remove the screw or rivet holding the end in place, and slide the rubber insert out. That will give access to the screws/rivets holding the cap to the hull.

Hopefully this will shed some light for you - Typical shoebox construction

The question about parting the cap from hull was in anticipation of replacing the transom. The illustration is just what I needed to verify my deductions about the construction of the boat. Pix will be coming as I tear into the transom this off season. Once again, thanks to all for the input!
