Re: Bf75 (7.5Hp) torque & sequence
hello,
no doubt u will get the specs offered...
but in the case of no specs or diagrams... here is what u can do.
working from the center to the outside, or center to top then back to next on bottom, then top up, then next to next bottom, etc [well u get idea] avoid the idea of "bolting the head on"
think of "drawing the head bolts down". using that sort of a sequence... just add a few ft pounds each time. key is to take it slowly. with a reasonable sequence... inside to out, if in doubt... and a small amount of torque each time... hard to go wrong. a pound at a time is not unreasonable when in the dark...
a 5/16ths head bolt... usually will be torqued to 20 - 22 ft lbs... clean threads in block and bolt... and light engine oil in threads and under bolt head. 3/8s usually goes up to 35 ft lbs and 7/16th can run 65... and 1/2" can run 85 - 100 ft lbs...
just be sure to draw down the bolts slowly so as to put a uniform clamp load on gasket and head or plate.
