BF100 out of time?

What do these 2 rubber hoses go to?

Just bought this motor, old Honda BF100, best date I could get on it is between ‘72-‘79. There are 2 fittings with hoses dangling off of them, can anyone tell me what these are for?

So she is running now but bogs when I give her gas. I’m thinking it may be out of time? And I’m still trying to find the correct impeller for her so I can replace it, it is apparently a pre-80’s motor.

The carbs on these need to be disassembled and put in carb cleaner overnight.
All passageways need to be clear.

How did it run for you last season ?-----Check belt timing.-----Check valve clearance.-----Post results of a compression test.----Those carburetors take some folks 3 tries to get everything clean enough.-----Do not run it anymore till you determine the issue.

I’ll try cleaning the carb first. This is a new-to-me motor, just got it running. Runs fine at idle

Perhaps someone sold it due to big problems.-----So do the simple trouble shooting.

The guy I bought it from had cancer, the guy who gave it to him had the same cancer and died so I doubt it is anything big, so far any issues I have had are simple. I have no idea how long it was stored but it was serviced before it was, pretty apparent. I think like Alumarine suggested the next logical step would be to clean the carb, ethanol gas does some pretty nasty stuff over time

Ok I’m starting to get stumped. Soaked the carb and nothing changed. Looked like the timing might be off a tooth so changed that and it wouldn’t start. Not sure where to go next?

I had a problem once where the engine would run on full throttle fine, but at lower throttles and starting was a problem, Cleaned the carb three times with the last one soaking for about 4 hours and still had the problem. Then thought "it must be an ignition issue" and struggled with that for a while. Went back to the carb and soaked it overnight and finally the problem was gone. There's a little passage you can't get to (unless you drilled out the plugs) that must have been clogged up real good but it's been running fine for YEARS now that I got that fixed. The red circle shows where that is in the fuel path.

Thanks guys, I had the carb soaking for 3 days. They’re simple enough, guess I could take it back apart and try again. BTW the carb was spotless inside the first time I took it apart. I’ll try to find that passageway
