Hi,

I just wanted to share my experiences with the "pros" in the motor forums, specifically, the J&E forum.

When I first bought my current boat, I was getting 10mph and about 2000 rpm. :)

Unfortunatly I have taken the advice given by many including but not limited to: OBJ, DHadley, Joe Reeves, RJohnson, JB and Rodbolt.

These guys have completely screwed up my engine. Now when I give it full throttle I am flying out of the water at 6000rpm at an unknown high rate of speed.

To make matters even worse, my engine starts on the first try and there is a strong water leak from something called a "telltale"

I started with a perfect coughing, stalling and slow engine and am now stuck with this great running engine. :(

DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU

If you want to keep your engine running poorly please ignore the motor forums experts. :D

I love that sound at 6800 when all them ponies wants to run.

I would have thought the experts would have cautioned about running 6800. Hope all them ponies don't start running in different directions one day ...

Outboards have roller bearings and tend to be ballanced very well. With propper, (and enough) oil and good fuel, they can rev 10,000 forever.

I have mine running at 6,200 at times, it loves it.

:p Hey, I know "BAIT" when I see it!
:p

All that I can say is that if you are going to rev your engine beyond what the manufacture suggests, you should increase the amount of oil, and make sure you are using the best oil you can find. Now, if you dont like Amsoil, I would recommend Klotz TC-W3. Very fine oil. Smells good also. "Not" Klotz racing 2 cycle!
