A buddy at work races cars, pretty competitive. I asked him why oil filters get so tight. His repsonse, I have no clue but in a 1/4 mile run they seize is if they been on there for 5 years. My guess the o-ring swells to aid in sealing. Again, I found zero water in mine, a buddy whose boat was stored for 5 years (block cracked) gave me 15 gallons of fuel out of it which I put in my car. zero water.
