I replaced my exsisting 18 inch swim platform with a new one that is 36 inches. I made custom brackets out of ss flat stock. I'm debating if i should install pressure treated deck boards first then use ss screws from the bottom to hold the trek decking in place. That way there would be no screws showing thru the trek boards or i could just thru bolt the trek boards to the ss brackets

I'd do carriage bolts. Nice and smooth on top, and simple.

Get em @ lowes. VERY large Flat Heads EXTREMELYY high tensile strenth. Would mount flush with a forstner bit. Look extremly good.

Definitely gotta through-bolt, I wouldn't trust Trex or wood to hold screws in that application. How about stainless oval head pan machine screws and stainless finish washers?
