Best Sources for Rebuild Parts?

Based on responses I'm getting on another thread where I posted cylinder damage photos, I'm going to need to tear down this motor (1988 XP200) and bore out one cylinder and drop in an oversized piston. While I have it apart I'll clean everything and replace the other 5 sets of rings and a few gaskets and seals I imagine. So I'm looking for a good source to order parts from. Can I go aftermarket on the gaskets to save money? Which companies have a good reputation for parts? I put together the following list of parts looking on boats.com, but I'd like to know if there are other/better/cheaper/preferred places to order from. Thanks for any suggestions you might have. I'm off to start the tear down...

(1) 0322575 SEAL,Upper $7.67
(4) 0326741 O-RING $5.48
(1) 0326764 WRIST PIN $10.10
(7) 0326765 CIRCLIP 5PK $9.87
(1) 0328622 GASKET $9.77
(1) 0331532 GASKET INTAKE MAN $4.87
(6) 0332266 GASKET $12.42
(1) 0332942 *SEAL - Z $19.55
(1) 0391480 BEARING, Wrist pin. $27.97
(1) 0431844 PSTN RING SET-.030 $22.92
(1) 0431870 PSTN RING SET-STD $148.35
(1) 0432077 PISTON,PORT,030 OS $100.06

Total $379.03

You better mike the bores of the other 5 cylinders as the open deck blocks wear in a taper. I have only torn a couple of these blocks down that didnt need the other cylinder bored as they where still within spec's. Most of the time they will be .003-.004 at top of cylinder and have seen as much as .008 out at bottom of cylinder.

Ok, thanks for the tips. I'll likely order from powerheadkit.com since their prices look pretty good. I think I can just get a gasket set, the 5 standard rings, and the one new piston/rings/wristpin/etc. Are their pistons OEM, or near OEM quality?

They sell the WSM,Promarine and Wisco pistons, the one in their web picture is a Wiseco. The other parts they have listed are from Promarine,Sierra and WSM as I sell the same and know the part numbers. Make sure you check them cylinders or you may be wasting your $$$ as the skirts of the pistons are the life of the motor not the rings...

Although he won't say it, do yourself a favor and buy what you need from Faztbullet.

His prices are as good as powerhead.com and you won't have to worry that he's found a new supplier of bearings from china that may have zippo quality control.

If I'm not mistaken, PH.com is posting/quoting a price/picture of a rebuild kit that shows forged Wiseco pistons, yet elsewhere they indicate forged pistons are an up-charge.

As a dealer, that's a huge red flag.

Good luck.

Try http://www.rickracers.com/

They have good prices and friendly staff !!!

As for the pistons ask the guy at Powerhead, they only had Wiescos for my engine (1977 55HP Evinrude). I hear from everyone that if your not racing don't use wiesco's. I would say go OEM pistons and build a kit around that. I was going to get a prebuild kit but sometimes its not a good deal.
