Welcome to the forum. What part of the country do you live in? Will you need to remove it for the winter freeze?

the are good in fresh water, but you still have the bottom growth problem. stormy weather i would not trust them. if you are in salt water, the only way to go is with a lift.

there was a post a while back, about a boat covered in barnacles, from saltwater use.

I would look for a trailer, thats a small enough boat to handle easy enough. Are you wanting to dock it on a private lake, you could look into one of those anchoring bungee's it allows you to set the anchor and motor to shore while streaching the cord then you jump out with your rope and the bungee retracts the boat back out, something like that, I haven't any experience using one just heard of it here. i've seen some nice homemade docks useing plastic drums and some treated lumber.

All of the private boat docks I've seen in my area are home made and on steel wheels. You just pull the dock closer to shore when the water comes up or pull it all the way out in the winter.

practice docking your boat on one and then decide if you want to do this everytime you need to store your boat...buddy of mine damaged his bow on a jetdock type...

Floating dock would always be my last choice, I personally hate trying to walk on even the most stable ones. Especially if you are doing maintenance on a vessel. But we have some lakes up here where water levels fluctuate 10 feet throughout the summer so it's needed.

Nuthin better than a dock sitting on rock and log cribs.
"Wheel in" or cantilevered aluminum frame docks second choice for the wealthy or those with equipment to weld aluminum.

I hope this thread isn't spam......
