Belts for 4.3 V6

I need alternator and steering belts for a mercruiser alpha gen 2. 4.3L V6. Serial#0D828583
I do not have the old belts to measure. I'm in hopes that someone can lead in the right direction for some reasonably priced belts of the proper size. Thank you in advance.

And just to clarify that is for the water circulation pump? I will need to measure when I am back at the boat.
Are their cheaper belts or are OEM the only way to go? I see other belts the same length but I'm not sure about the width? The OEM are quite expensive.

nothing special about the belts. auto works just fine. here's my alt belt, Gates 7345 XL High Capacity V-Belt https://a.co/d/7BYxjJh

can't find the other. measure the length with a string and go to your FLAPS.

The manufacturer of the belts is dayco, gates, or Goodrich or conti

Mercruiser just buys the same belts you can buy and marked it up for resale

Ayuh,..... I buy my belts at Napa,.... Just have 'em cross-ref the numbers,....

I have another inlaw that will be at the camp this weekend he is going to measure the pulley for the fun of it and also use a strong to measure for each belt. Sounds so simple after you said it. Thanks!

Couldn’t you look up the OEM belt part number off the serial number and then cross reference that over to a standard automotive belt?

from your serial number alt is 46 inches,power steering is 52- 1/2

Yeah, I don't know if this will help but I just replaced both my belts. Went to O'Reilly's and the belts were still a little spendy. $30 or so each. Below is a pic of the package.

You can loosen the adjustable accessories to midway in their adjustment and then run a rope around the belt paths. Measure. Then compare to the part numbers to see if length is in right range.

So the belts that were ordered were a 52" and a 44" both were too small. Either the wrong belts were sent or there's a slightly larger pulley on this model? I've been discussing with the inlaw who ordered the belt. I'm sure he thinks I'm completely incompetent. I'm going next week to measure and match a belt from local automotive store instead of just ordering belts blindly. I appreciate all of the discussion from everyone. I cannot wait to solve this problem!

The ones I found were metric and are 10mm wide. they make them in 10mm increments which is great. If they don't fit, just go one size up or down.
