Makes me appreaciate my Volvo P / DP.. :D

With the drive off the bellows were a 15 min job. Just the ujoint bellows that is.. I have an exhaust "tube." Only one clamp and your done... No stuffing10#s of $#!t in anything...:D

if you pull the drive and change the bellows, its a real good idea to change the gimble bearing too. here you need a slide hammer and a bearing pulley and they have to fit perfect or wreck-havoc and start over. there's more than meets the eye.

I typically don't replace something unless its a preventative measure or its going bad. There's much to the saying "leave well enough alone" when it comes to some items. :)

My bellows have never leaked and I perform all my own Mx thus know what's needed and when. The bellow replacement was purely preventative due to them going on 6/7 years old - however, looked great. I pull the drive/check-adjust alignment each yr regardless - shaft, gimbal and ujoints look/feel brand new.

This is my first VP - previous boats were Merc. Both have their pro's and con's yet I find the VP easier to maintain etc.
