Bell housing removal on 1969 1 drive?

How do you remove the pins holding the bell housing on a 1969 one drive (mated to a 160 I6)? All the documentation I've come across shows the pins covered by the trim position senders and come out with the 12 point tool. I've gone thru service manual #1 (which appears to be my drive and motor combo) and can't seem to find this detailed.
I'm replacing the shift cable/bellows (all of them) and need to pull the bell housing in order to tap the hole for the new style cable.

You remove what looks like a nail and use a slide puller threaded into the pin to remove it.
