The alarm is beep-beep-beep with the engine off and stone cold.

If I disconnect the oil tank or VRO sender it stops. The local shop said I need to replace both of them to the tune of $550.

Are they both bad or is just one of them bad?

How can I test these senders to tell which one is bad?

Wish I had a schematic of the alarm system.

Disconnect the wiring from the oil tank, it is the one that gives the most problems, and it is not needed if you visually inspect the oil level at every fill up.

If the "VRO" sounds an alarm with the oil tank disconnected, then you will have to replace it.

OK, that makes sense. I'll give that a go.

I have a brand new 4 stroke kicker so I'll have to stick with the VRO.
