I have a 20' 98 Bayliner cuddy cabin trophy with a 98 force 120 hp motor.
Problem: when throttle applied my fishfinder screen gets scrambled and has interfernce bad when idling and super low speed i do get alot better readings.

pic is attached, can anyone give any advice? or pictures of their transducer location on their bayliner trophy boat?

Re: Bayliner Trophy Lowrance transducer mounting issues

The whale tail on the engine is probably contributing to the turbulence which makes the transducer go goofy. It is also installed a bit close to the engine. I can't tell from the picture how high or low the transducer is mounted. It must however, be installed so it is NOT in-line with any strakes or protrusions on the hull that creates turbulence around the transducer. It would appear there is -plenty of room to move it to the right a bit. Do not install it in-line with the strake or the chine.

Re: Bayliner Trophy Lowrance transducer mounting issues

my picture is crappy i agree i will try to get better ones soon, but if you look at this next one, you see my issue is any more right and it will hit the bunk, but would the yellow circle be the next possible spot to mount?

to be honest the transducer is even close to that bunk then whats shown in the picture, its an older picture, but still having issues. I do know mounting issue because i had the same issue on a hummingbird 161c. Thought buying this Lowrance would help but not the case.

i do see there are steps(???) under the boat, but right now is the only location i can use before moving to the right side of the bunk.
