My 1983 Capri 1950 BR has those lounge seats built into the factory wood bases. The seats are about $550.00 to replace (special Bayliner style).

Since I am redoing the deck and most of the wood anyway, is there any harm of cutting them out with a skill saw and replacing them with a Wise or BM lounge seat. http://www.overtons.com/modperl/pro...Lounge-Boat-Seats&aID=11A&merchID=1009&r=view

Am I missing something?

Is it really just a matter of just cutting them out to deck level on all four sides of the base?

do you know that there is foam under the bases on bayliners? so if you are going to put in new seats you are going to have to do some deck and glass work. Also, i have two 1986 bayliner back to back seats which i am selling, if you are interested please PM me, or email me at Dvandy21@yahoo.com.
