Hello, I have a 2000 bayliner Capri 1950. I pulled the carpet up to fix a soft spot, but while doing so the carpet pulled up alot of fiberglass and exposed the ply. I fixed the soft spot but now have to deal with the missing spots. Any advice on paint or a way to seal the floor back up? Thank you

welcome aboard.

before you go any further, you may want to rip up the entire floor. the last thing to rot is the floor. stringers and transoms rot first. boats rot from the keel up. simply patching the soft spot in the floor does not address the other rotten stuff

also, you would use fiberglass to re-encapsulate the floor

I agree, I dont own a bayliner but from what I have read stringer and transom rot is common to them
Then again my glastron was rotted also!

Four winns here. Rotted everything. I don't think it is the brand as much as the care they received when new. They all rot if you let them stay wet inside.
