Thanks for the membership! I am in the process of restoring a 1985 Bayliner Ciera 2150. I got this hull for free, and it happens that I have a complete Merc. I/O set up that is a 4.3 alpha I from a 1989 Wellcraft that a friend of mine trashed. My Ciera came with a 140 hp Volvo...would the 4.3 be a good set-up?

Thank you! Most of it was gutted.Underneath the cockpit was taken out, and where the aft cabin is, there was no motor or outdrive that came with it.The transom appears solid...I did some banking on it to tell...

hey pappa, if i may humbly recommend: try to find measurments of where the stock stringers and bulkheads were originally. nothing wrong with customization but with my restoration the structural pieces are all in the original places. Also if your boat had foam Id recommend replacing at least what was taken out

Checking transom: take a core sample(s) pull up on the outdrive to see if the transom moves

also the key hole could tell alot

There is nothing as far as motor/outdrive or gimbal there. I believe it originally had an OMC/VOLVO set up.The stringers and most decking is still there .I am going to definitely going to add foam/floatation, however I am pondering if I want a larger boat.
