I have a leaking gas tank on my 1988 Bayliner Ciera SB 2455. It is located under the aft cabin. It is a 55 Gal tank, and I believe the dimensions are approx 4'L x 39"W x 9" deep. I believe this should be able to fit out of the aft cabin and into main cabin then out of the boat.

Does anyone have any prints you can email to me at Craig.Osterhage@pwrm.com. so I can see how this gas tank is located between the stringers etc.

How to begin? And where to cut? Please help as I have no intention of paying the +$3500 for a marina to replace tank. Tank cost is approx $300. I will have to scrap this boat, if I can not repair it. Would not be able to justify putting in the additional $3500 into it.

Please help.
Thanks
CraigL

I know this goes without saying since you are dealing with a gas tank - but be very careful! There are many boats that blow up each year because of fumes in the bilge.

Make sure every drop of gas is removed before doing anything. Make sure there are no gas fumes remaining in the tank or the bilge too.

- bayman

have you tried the bayliners owners club at
www.baylinerownersclub.org , they might be better to assist. especially in the search engine. there are alot of helpful topics for that type of boat. unfortunatly for me trophy boats arent as common as yours in the fuel tank replacement.
