Re: Bayliner Ciera 2150 with 4cyl Volvo Penta
Bruce is right on the money. It was criminal what they did shipping an aft cabin boat with an AQ131. A lousy 120hp. New, the boat would barely plane and was a low 20's boat.
The boat itself was a neat little design. 1st generation of the aft cabin pocket yacht's. Enclosed Head, shower, sink, stove. aft cabin.
All Bayliner had to do was install - for pennies more - the Volvo 4 cylinder AQ151 (146HP) engine - same outdrive . It would have been a very functional overnighter boat for a young couple with a kid.
That's what Bayliner would do. Get people that didn't know any better into a boat that was underpowered so they thought they were getting a good deal.
