Just saw this post, and I know I'm a little late. But I hear a lot of people say that Bayliners got a bad rap because of the 80s. I bought a 2004 Bayliner 18' and within the first few months my seats were splitting. I looked at a brand new showroom Bayliner cabin cruiser in 2008 and the headliner was falling out. Save yourself the time and buy a used Sea Ray or Chaparral. You won't be disappointed in the quality over the long term. I have a 10 year old Sea Ray 185 with original seats, top, etc., and it is immaculate. It's kinda like shopping for a car; brand new Kia Rios look GREAT on the showroom, but... I'd much rather have a used Sea Ray, Chaparral, or Four Winns than a brand new Bayliner or Glastron.

Welcome aboard Scubaboxer:

Please make sure you read through the forum rules: Number 12 being please do not post to threads that have been inactive for more than 3 months UN-LESS you are the original poster. We have very active forums and any thread that remains inactive for that long should be considered "dead". It is especially confusing when there is an entirely new question posted to an old thread. This is considered a hijack. Please start a new thread of your own.
