Just saw this post, and I know I'm a little late. But I hear a lot of people say that Bayliners got a bad rap because of the 80s. I bought a 2004 Bayliner 18' and within the first few months my seats were splitting. I looked at a brand new showroom Bayliner cabin cruiser in 2008 and the headliner was falling out. Save yourself the time and buy a used Sea Ray or Chaparral. You won't be disappointed in the quality over the long term. I have a 10 year old Sea Ray 185 with original seats, top, etc., and it is immaculate. It's kinda like shopping for a car; brand new Kia Rios look GREAT on the showroom, but... I'd much rather have a used Sea Ray, Chaparral, or Four Winns than a brand new Bayliner or Glastron.
